Of all the joints in your body, your shoulder is among the most complex and has one of the widest ranges of motion when it is working properly. When frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) develops, however, the flexible tissue surrounding the shoulder joint that allows it to move smoothly thickens and stiffens, making movement painful and difficult.
